Fillet-A-Fish and other Stories

Chef Michael Munoz, along with Chefs Danny Renteria and Luis Zepeda, put together a dynamic and interactive presentation for our members! After a brief overview on cutting techniques and knife sharpening, Chef pulled out three extremely fresh 15-pound salmons, and swiftly sliced, trimmed and boned the fish for members. Then it was time for everyone to don their gloves and aprons, and slice into the fish themselves!

Other stories...

Monday evening we were treated to the delightful and relaxing sounds of Paul Mehling, one of the top guitarists in the gypsy/swing style made famous by Django Rheinhardt. A number of members stopped by for a glass of wine, easy conversation, and the mellow sounds playing in the background. Many thanks to our member, Natasha Miller of Entire Productions for selecting a performer that exactly matches the tone and energy of the member's Bar. He would be perfect for weddings too!

Bacchus the Rascal...

will be updated next time! We are thrilled to be welcoming proprietor Jan Schrem and winemaker Shaun Richardson of Clos Pegase to the Club on Friday, August 21. We will be tasting a selection of estate and reserve wines paired with a lovely menu created by Chef Michael Munoz. Stay tuned - this sold-out event promises to be a convivial evening, with an amusing presentation of Bacchus the Rascal (The God of Wine throughout Art History).

See you at the Club!

Here Comes the Sun

What makes the City Club such a special space for a Wedding Ceremony’s is the look you can create. Our large windows in the City Club Café receive great light depending on the month, time of year, and of course the weather. A wedding in April whom hosted their ceremony here had one of the best afternoon “Sun’s” that I have seen.

The couples’ wedding colors were hues of red & pink. The Café became a red, pink, and amber haven! With the blush floral hues framing our fireplace, red & pink chinese parasols, afternoon sun, the beautiful gold & silver ceilings of the City Club, and our orginal white stretch calf skin walls, the room lit up just in time for the Bride to walk down the aisle! To make everything complete, she walked down the aisle to the song “Here Comes the Sun”. The perfect song to the most perfect sunset.

Thanks to Charlie Gesell photography, he captured the perfect photos for the occasion, photographing every color of the room that the Bride & Groom dreamed of. Please visit his work and more photos of Diana & Jay’s sunny ceremony at http://www.charliegesellphotography.com/. Charlie can also be reached at cgesell@sprynet.com, and 707 494-9698.
